In class I am currently reading The Dragonslayers by Bruce Coville to the students. Today we met another new character, the bear. The bear told Willie, “Never turn away a friend.” Where have you heard that before in the book? Do you think there is a connection between the bear and other characters? Looking forward to reading more tomorrow!
We organized ourselves into groups. We then wrote our own scripts and practiced our parts. We hope you enjoy our movie!
To begin, just click the yellow 'x' to close the pop-up box. Then click the arrow to begin and the VoiceThread should then run automatically. Enjoy!
We have been reviewing the writing trait, IDEAS. We read the books, Diary of a Worm and Diary of a Spider by Doreen Cronin. As a class we examined the facts about worms and spiders that are in these stories but sometimes hidden in the humor of the writing.
Each student came up with an idea to write a diary for. You can find our writing in the new tab at the top of the page titled ‘Student Writing’. We hope you enjoy!
This morning we read a story called Marshall Armstrong is New to Our School by David Mackintosh. Afterwards we discussed the rights students have at school as well as their responsibilities. In the comment section add your thoughts about this book or any questions you may have. Think about how this story relates to our lines of inquiry-rights and responsibilities, fairness, needs and wants at school.
