In class we've watched a few videos from a group called OK Go. We really enjoyed watching them express their creativity through their videos. Below you will find a new video from OK Go. What do you think was their inspiration for this video? How does their video make you feel? How do you think they made this video?
Our 5th Guest Artist
Today we went to the MPR room for are 5thGuest Artist who was Mrs. McCarthy. Her art was cooking! Then she showed us some cupcakes that she had made. Finally she told us that we could make some! We were allowed to have one big one and two small ones. On the big one I did a flower and I used a marsh mellow cut in 5 pieces, green icing, an M&M for the middle and then sprinkles. The other one I did a pig. It was really fun.

As soon as Mr. Gallagher introduced us to a new tool today, GarageBand, we were sold! What a fantastic way for us to express ourselves! We spent some time exploring the tool and trying to create a song. Below you can listen to Mr. Gallagher's creation in GarageBand. We were very impressed! We will share songs created by 3SS in the near future....stay tuned!

We have been reviewing the writing trait, Organization. After reading the book Tuesday, by David Wiesner, we saw how authors can use days of the week and time to help organize their writing. We also discovered that weird things can happen on certain days and at certain times.
We decided to have a go and write our own stories using days and time. We wanted to make sure we also had a beginning, middle, and end. Please read our latest writing under the tab at the top of the page, 'Student Writing'.
We watched a video today of an artist who works with sand. We discussed whether or not we thought it was art and why. The students really wanted to post this on our blog to share with their parents. Have a chat together at home and discuss whether you think this is art or not. Let us know what you think.
