This week, grade 3 played math games that have to do with place value. There were 3 games. 1 game needed a hundred chart and another needed dice. The last needed a place value mat.
On the floor, Gakuto, Kevin, Sofia, Aeddan and Heegyu were helping Mrs. Skrtic to make a game. The game with the math chart needs 2~4 counters ,12 coins, and a couple dozen cards with +1,-1,+2,-2,+10,-10,etc written on them. The dice game needs 20++ singles and 10++strips of ten. I think everyone enjoyed the math games and I agree with them if they did.
This morning we read a story called Marshall Armstrong is New to Our School by David Mackintosh. Afterwards we discussed the rights students have at school as well as their responsibilities. In the comment section add your thoughts about this book or any questions you may have. Think about how this story relates to our lines of inquiry-rights and responsibilities, fairness, needs and wants at school.
On our first day of school we brainstormed ideas for our Classroom Agreements. Below you will see some samples from our work.
