Pica Ferme Nada is a critical thinking math game we play in class.
One student comes up with a mystery number.
That student then takes guesses from the class. Each guess is written on the board and clues are given to see if the guess matched the mystery number.
The clues are on the chart paper in the photo.
Watch the video of 3SS playing so you can see the game in action. Have a go this weekend and see if you can guess your child’s mystery number!
We organized ourselves into groups. We then wrote our own scripts and practiced our parts. We hope you enjoy our movie!
To begin, just click the yellow 'x' to close the pop-up box. Then click the arrow to begin and the VoiceThread should then run automatically. Enjoy!
We have been reviewing the writing trait, IDEAS. We read the books, Diary of a Worm and Diary of a Spider by Doreen Cronin. As a class we examined the facts about worms and spiders that are in these stories but sometimes hidden in the humor of the writing.
Each student came up with an idea to write a diary for. You can find our writing in the new tab at the top of the page titled ‘Student Writing’. We hope you enjoy!
This afternoon, Mr. Gallagher introduced us to a new tool, Bitstrips.
He gave us an introduction and then let us have a go with the tool on our own. We began by creating a character as well as exploring the different scenes we could use. We look forward to learning more about this tool and using it throughout the school year.
In our current unit we have been inquiring into our responsibilities at school. At ISS we model the following behaviors; Be Safe, Be Honest, Be Responsible, Be Respectful.
Here are a few pictures of students from 3SS during the school day. Leave a comment and let us know which 4 Be you think they are modeling and why.
